Scouts BSA Troops 627 & 1627
About Scouting America
Scouting America (formery Scouts BSA) is a youth organization for both boys and girls focused on character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. This program is youth-led with adult guidance. All boys and girls are eligible to join once they have completed 5th grade or earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts.
About Our Troops
Troops 627 (for boys) and 1627 (for girls) are linked Scouts BSA troops in East Peoria, IL. We are chartered by the East Peoria Methodist Men's Club, and are in the Wotamalo District of the W.D. Boyce Council.
We meet at 7:00PM every Monday, and hold one campout per month year-round.
Troop Structure
Troop 627 and 1627 operate as linked troops. We share a committee and chartered organization, but have separate youth leadership and scoutmasters. We hold our meetings in the same location and at the same time, and switch off which troop opens and closes the meeting. We work together for most campouts and other events.
We are connected with Cub Scout Pack 3627 and also cross over scouts from Pack 147, but we welcome scouts from any unit. Our current leaders and members came up through several different packs, and many joined our troops directly without any cub scouting experience. Drop us a note if you'd like to come meet us!
